कलम से कैमरे तक

बात उन दिनों की है जब मुझे नया नया पत्रकारिता का भूत सवार हुआ था उस वक़्त मैं दसवीं कक्षा में पढता था दिल में जनून था कुछ करने का दिमाग में सोच थी कुछ कर दिखने की दसवी क्लास से ही मैंने अखबारों में लेख लिखने शुरू कर दिए मेरे कई लेख प्रकाशित भी हुए जिससे मेरे ऊपर चढ़ा पत्रकारिता का जनून और बढ़ गया मैंने ठान लिया की मैं एक दिन पत्रकार जरूर बनूगा एक अच्छा पत्रकार बात यहीं ख़त्म नहीं होती मुझे लिखने का इतना शौक था की कलम की ताक़त को मैं अपने अल्फाजों में उतारता चला गया मैं कुछ इस तरह के अल्फाज़ भी लिखने लगा था जिन्हें अगर एक मुक्तक में पिरो दिया जाए तो वो शेर बन जाता था जब मै वो शेर लोगों को सुनाता तो लोग उसकी तारीफ कर देते बस चंद लोगों की हौंसला अफजाई ने मुझे दो साल में ही मुझे शायर भी बना दिया

मैंने ग्यारवी और बारवी यानी दो साल तक अपनी कलम की ताक़त को बरक़रार रखा क्यूंकि मुझे कलम की ताक़त दिखानी थी मैं एक अदना सा तारिक अंसारी था लेकिन दो रूपये के कलम ने मुझे लाखों का चाहीता तारिक अंसारी बना दिया स्कूल के उन दो सालों मैंने वो सबकुछ कर लिया था जो एक अच्छा पत्रकार बनने में मेरी मदद करता कई बार मैंने डिस्टिक लेवल के मुशायरे भी अटेंड किये जिनमे मुझे काफी सराहना मिली यानी मुझे अपने जिले बिजनौर के छोटे से तहसील नजीबाबाद में दो साल तक लोगों ने अपनी मुहबत्तों से काफी नवाज़ा अपने शहर के लोगों की हौंसला अफजाई मेरे लिए तरक्की का सबब बन गई मैंने अपनी इंटर की परीक्षा फर्स्ट डिविज़न से पास की और मैं अपनी क्लास में टॉप 5 की गिनती में था फिर मैंने अपने शहर से बहार निकलकर पत्रकारिता की तालीम हासिल करने के बारे में सोचा

खुदा के शुक्र था की मैं अपने माँ बाप और अपने चाहने वालो की दुआ से पुणे के एक कोलेज में पत्रकारिता की तालीम हासिल करने चला गया लेकिन मैं शायद अभी इस लायक नहीं था की मैं पुणे जैसे शहर में धड़ा धड अंग्रेजी बोलने वाले लोगों के बीच पढ़ सकूँ ये मेरे सामने एक बहुत बड़ी चुनौती थी की मैं अपने आप को भी उस माहोल के लायक बना सकूँ मेरा एडमिशन उस कोलेज में हो तो चूका था लेकिन जब कोई मेरे सामने अंग्रेजी बोलता तो मैं उसका जवाब नहीं दे पता था मैं दिल ही दिल में खुदा से दुआ करता की खुदा मुझे भी इस लायक कर दे की मैं इनकी बातों का जवाब इन्ही की भाषा में दे सकूँ मुझे ये बात कहने में कतई भी शर्म महसूस नहीं होती की मैं अपनी क्लास में चंद लोगों से ही बात कर पाता था इसकी वज़ह सिर्फ अंग्रेजी थी

मैंने शुरू के छः महीने अपनी क्लास में सिर्फ 5 या 10 लोगों से ही जान पहचान की थी अगर मेरे सामने कोई अंग्रेजी में बात करता था तो मैं झेंप जाता था लेकिन मैंने यह तै कर लिया था की मुझे आगे बढ़ना है सबसे आगे बस इसी जुस्तुजू ने मुझे मेरी तरक्की तक पहुंचा दिया मैंने छः महीने बाद ही IBN7 मुंबई में इन्टर्नशिप की मैं आपको ये बात बताना चाहता हूँ की क्लास में सबसे पहले इंटर्नशिप मैंने की थी वो भी एक ब्रांड चैनल में IBN7 में मैंने जनाब निशात शम्शी के अंडर में काम किया जिन्हें मैं अपना उस्ताद भी मानता हूँ निशात शम्सी इस वक़्त एनडीटीवी मुंबई में क्राइम के पत्रकार हैं मुझे ये बात कहते हुए ज़रा भी हिचक नहीं की मुझे निशात शम्सी सर ने काफी तराशा मुझे इलेक्ट्रोनिक मीडिया की सारे गुर सिखाये और उन्होंने मुझे जॉब करने के लिए भी कहा लेकिन मैं मुंबई में नहीं रहना चाहता था इसलिए मैंने नहीं की मैंने एक महीने की इंटर्नशिप में बहुत कुछ सीख लिया था मैं खुदा का शुक्रगुज़ार की मैंने अंग्रेजी को न जानते हुए भी इतनी इज्ज़त कमा ली थी अपनी क्लास में

अब मुंबई में मेरे काफी ताल्लुकात बढ़ गए थे कई लोग जानने वाले हो गए थे जब मैं इंटर्नशिप करके पुणे आया था तो मैं अपने 52 स्टुडेंट की क्लास में सबसे अलग ही चमक रहा था मेरा जनून और बढ़ गया था मैंने ये साबित कर दिया था की अंग्रेजी को ही जानने वाला ही सिर्फ आगे नहीं बढ़ता मैंने अपना लिखने का शौक बरक़रार रखा मैं ग़ज़ल भी लिखता था अब मेरी अपनी क्लास में भी हिचक खुल गई थी लोग मुझसे अंग्रेजी में नहीं बल्कि हिंदी में बात करते थे मै एक मैगजीन से जुड़ गया और उसके लिए फ्रीलांसर बन गया इसके साथ साथ मुझे जब भी अपने कोलेज से छुट्टी मिलती अक्सर मैं नौकरी की तलाश में दिल्ली आकर न्यूज़ चैनलों की खाक छानता फिरता अचानक मुझे नोयडा TV100 में असाइनमेंट पे इंटर्नशिप करने का मौका मिला मैंने वहां पर करीब चार महीने काम किया TV100 में काम करके मैं पूरे देश में करीब 500 स्ट्रिंगर मेरा नाम जान चुके थे जिनमे से कई लोग अभी भी मेरे संपर्क में हैं और अभी भी वो मुझे फोन करते रहते हैं सभी लोग मेरे भाई जैसे हैं अब सवाल था की आखिर कब तक मैं इंटर्नशिप करता आखिर पापी पेट का भी सवाल था

१ अगस्त 2009 को मैंने दिल्ली में क़दम रखा पुणे से मैं अपना कोर्स ख़त्म करके आ चूका था अब मैं नौकरी की तलाश में था नौकरी के लिए रोज़ न्यूज़ चैनलों की गलियों में भटकता फिरता था कई लोगों ने मुझे मेरा कोर्स ख़त्म होने के बाद मेरी नौकरी लगवाने के सपने दिखा रखे थे लेकिन जब मैं किसी से इस बारे में बात करता तो वो लोग ताल देते मुझे यकीन हो चूका था की मुझे जो कुछ भी करना है खुद ही करना है मेरा बायो डाटा तकरीबन हर चैनल के बहार बने डब्बों में जा चूका था लेकिन रेस्पोंस कहीं से नहीं मिलता था बस रोज़ सुबह निकल जाता था मैं चैनलों की ख़ाक छानने वैसे तो मैं अपने कोर्स के दौरान ही पिछले ढाई साल से नौकरी की तलाश में भटक रहा था लेकिन अगस्त के महीने में मेरी हिम्मत टूट गई थी मैं परेशान था क्यूंकि अब मेरा कोर्स ख़त्म हो चूका था मैं खाली फिर रहां था आखिर मैं ख़ाली करता तो क्या करता ? मैं ये बात समझ चूका था की मीडिया में आना इतना आसान काम नहीं है और मीडिया में किसी पे भरोसा भी नहीं करना चाहिए क्यूंकि हर शख्स निशात शम्शी जैसा नहीं होता हर आदमी मीडिया में यही चाहता है की मुझसे आगे कोई न बढ़ पाए

जब मैं नौकरी की तलाश में पूरे अगस्त भर भटकता रहा तो अचानक मेरे पास प्रियम की कॉल आई मैं आपको बताना चाहता हूँ की प्रियम मेरी सिनियर थी कॉलेज में उसने मुझे देहरादून से कॉल की थी वो VON में काम कर रही थी उसने मुझे पहले भी कॉल की थी TV100 में भी मेरी इंटर्नशिप उसी ने कराइ थी उसने 27 अगस्त 2009 को कॉल दोपहर २:३० बजे कॉल की थी और कहा था की हमारे चैनल में असाइनमेंट पर जॉब है और तुम्हे कल सुबह 9 बजे तक पहुंचना है मैं उस वक़्त दिल्ली में था मैंने फटाफट एक घंटे के अन्दर अपना सामान पैक किया और देहरादून के लिए निकल पड़ा मैंने अगले दिन जॉब ज्वाइन कर ली मुझे असाइनमेंट पर ही काम मिला क्यूंकि मेरे स्ट्रिंगर भी काफी जानने वाले थे मैंने तीन महीने तक उसी पोस्ट पर काम किया लेकिन जल्द ही मैं क्राइम डिपार्टमेंट में स्क्रिप्टिंग करने लगा और काफी फेमस भी हो गयां कई बार कैमरे के सामने आने का भी मौका मिला अगर आपको मेरी स्क्रिप्ट देखनी है तो यु ट्यूब में जाकर मेरा मोबाइल नम्बर 9548974509 डालिए

Introduction

While surfing Hindi news channels, one can't help but notice the visible clutter of astrology and crime based shows. Almost all channels have shows based on astrology and crime. If blood and gore is what turns you on, Indian television is laying it on thick for you. Just take a look at the number of crime shows jostling for space in the late night slots ? there’s Sansani on Star News and vardaat on Aaj Tak, crimainal on IBN7 .
Kidnapping, murder, robbery, fraud ? you name it and they have it for you. And if viewership trends are any indication, these crime shows are becoming more and more popular each day. Most news channels produce their crime shows in-house, with the exception of Star News’ hugely successful Sansani which is produced by BAG Films, the Delhi-based TV software company. Says BAG Film’s managing director Anurradha Prasad: “The biggest gratification is that the show is delivering numbers in terms of ratings, viewers and market share.” Since its launch in November 2004, Sansani gets an average market share of 27 per cent among the crime shows of Hindi news channels.
The story for Zee and Aaj Tak is similar. Their crime shows deliver a channel share of almost 20 per cent each. Says a spokesperson for the television audience monitoring agency TAM: “The crime show is yet another format in the reality genre which is working for broadcasters.”
Producers at news channels stress that the success of a crime show depends on the presentation, depth and dramatisation of the event. Sansani’s helpline to report untoward incidents, for instance, receives 3,000 to 4,000 calls a day.

In fact, such is the growing popularity of crime shows that several broadcasters have started thinking about launching channels dedicated to crime. Says Channel 7’s managing editor Ashutosh: “Why not? Maybe in the next two years there will be channels devoted to crime programming.”
Broadcasters do not find the proliferation of crime shows an unusual development. Says Raju Santhanam, editor, Zee News: “Why single out broadcasters? Even the print media report on crime. It’s just that the medium is different.” Zee News has two programmes on crime ? Crime Reporter, a daily show, and Crime File, which is aired weekly.
In fact, Zee first launched a crime show on its entertainment channel Zee TV in 1998. Called India’s Most Wanted, the show was hosted by Suhaib Ilyasi. Reports say that the programme got a TRP of between 10 and 12 and the show helped nab 10 outlaws in a span of seven months.
Yet not all crime shows are a hit. Sony launched Bhanwar and Missing but these shows failed to cut any ice with audiences. Likewise, Channel 7 launched three crime shows ? Masoom, Deewangee and Raaz ? but they too had short stints on air.
One of the biggest criticisms of crime shows is the way they dramatise the events. Anuttama Banerjee, a psychologist in Calcutta, points out, “Crime shows which dramatise events may have an adverse effect on viewers. Sometimes it is difficult to understand whether it is the actual scene of the crime or just a staged version.” Even the police complain that channels tend to sensationalise crime.
TV channels, however, are quick to defend themselves. Says Ashutosh: “In normal life, people are not used to scenes of violence and blood but when it comes to crime stories we have to explore these elements and so the effect tends to be dramatic.” On objections from the police, a channel executive claims that crime shows make many police officers uncomfortable. “These shows often point out the lacunae in the law,” he says.
Not surprisingly, such shows are now finding lots of advertisers. ADEX, the advertising monitoring division of TAM, says that advertisers such as the Bharti group (Airtel), the makers of Pan Parag and LML scooters are buying airtime on crime shows. Says an executive at a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, “As long as the show is delivering the relevant target audience, we do not mind advertising even on crime shows.”
Channels feel that crime is here to stay although it will manifest itself in newer forms that will sustain audience interest levels and improve interactivity.

STAR NEWS- INTRODUCTION


सताr News, a 24-hour Hindi news channel offers its viewers news that is relevant to contemporary India. The programming of this channel covers the full spectrum of news ranging from politics to business, investigative reports to consumer issues, crime to the environment.
Star News keeps viewers across India fully informed and engaged through the process of reporting news as it happens in India and with links to international news agencies. Star News channel is also available in Hong Kong, Europe, Middle East, The Philippines and Thailand besides India. With so many channels looking at people as their USP, Star News is also looking at becoming the `people`s channel`. The channel also has a number of sister channels like Star Plus, Star Ananda, Channel V India and many more that come under the umbrella of STAR network. Star News claims to attract at least 25% of the market shares from the six metro cities in India. The channel has a classy Logo in Blue and silvery white, with a star, cut as a flash of light as its main symbol.
Launched in the year 1998, Star News was previously a bilingual channel when it was in partnership with NDTV, featuring news in both- English as well as Hindi. It became a completely Hindi channel in the year 2003, when the agreement with NDTV expired, which was taken as a good decision by the management as their audiences were those who understand Hindi but prefer to read English. According to research, their viewership gains were likely to be much more than what they would lose. Star News, made a successful transition to a 24-hour Hindi News channel, reaching out to wider audiences across India.

The programming genre of Star News consists of Star Savera, Khabar Din Bhar, Aaj Ki Baat, National reporter, City 60, Kal Ki Baat and the like. The headquarters of the News Channel is in the Star News Centre, Mumbai, and it is linked to the Sansad Marg Super Bureau in Delhi. The 19 other regional bureaus across India are connected by VSAT. An added unique feature is that the reporters can multitask in shooting, editing and reporting by the use of laptop editing systems to stay connected while on location. In the year 2006, Star News launched an interactive news channel Active Star News, which is available on the newly launched DTH platform, Tata Sky. This new channel is reportedly a premium version of the channel, Star News and is available on subscription. Besides the regular news feed, the subscribers see an on-screen prompt, which directs them to press a red button on the remote to tune into Active Star News

SANSANI - CRIME SHOW

Star News’ Sansani is a crime show aired Mon - Fri 11 pm. Its USP is its star host - Shrivardhan Trivedi whose get up suggests that he is released by Tihar Jail for two hours every day to host the show.
"Chain se sona hai to jaag jayiye!!!!!!!" - screams Shrivardhan with his typical twist of hands. His entry on the show would put the bollywood heroes to shame. If you are preparing to watch this show, make sure you put your kids to sleep, your wife to sleep if you have one, close all windows and doors, get a bottle of water, lower the volume of your television set(don’t worry, Shrivardhan speaks loud enough for you to hear clearly) and then carefully seat yourself in front of your Television set.
Each other over property disputes, thefts, loots, homicides, kidnappings, rapes and all other kinds of heinous crimes...With pictures of victims and suspects scattered, the actual report was made as sensational as possible. Result: People gulped down every bit of it and I must say it was among the pioneers of current reality shows on TV albeit in a printed format. True - a reality show with people committing crimes isnt possible. So what do you have instead? A surrogate reality show! Yes. Where you have "natya rupantaran" or dramatised version of the events.
As the drama unfolds, you shudder and thank god it ain’t you. But when you realise how grievous and incredible the world of crime can be, you just can’t relax and go to sleep. Thats what the show aims at. To make you aware, alert and know the importance of being the part of the society and not just the part of your own small family. Sansani has been instrumental in helping the law in catching the suspects, making long losts meet - all through its helpline mobile number and email constantly

ZEE NEWS INTRODUCTION

With a tag line of `Haqeeqat jaisi khabar waisi`- Truth in context to reality, Zee news, the 24-hour Hindi news channel from the Zee group of Network has been ever since on a quest to bring out the truth. This is the channels belief that has been the guiding force in the dedication and integrity of Zee News in reporting unbiased News. As a socially responsible News Channel, Zee News has dared to walk a different path to bring the truth out even if it means staying away from the hype and trivial sensationalism. CRIME REPORTER - CRIME SHOW


Crime Reporter on Zee News at 11 PM. It’s the best example of how painfully funny crime reporting can get. While reporting rapes, thefts and murders, the show’s anchor Raghavendra puts in so much drama and emotion while presenting, that one can’t help but laugh even as he unravels heinous crimes one by one.
To use an analogy, the anchor’s on-camera movements are sudden and forced, quite like to those of a jackhammer, who shakes violently between commercial breaks.
His dialog delivery is also something to hear and not read about. Eventually, the viewer is stranded far away from the premise. Crime Reporter reminds a plot from an episode of Jaspal Bhatti’s TV series Flop Show. The central character, decides to direct a TV series with the genre horror. Driven by this desire he goes overboard to the extent that after going on-air, the serial draws much acclaim from audiences, not for scaring them, but for making them laugh till their stomachs ached.
No doubt, the news reported in Crime Reporter is heart wrenching, but the production team, add unnecessary background scores and emotion packed scripts read out by Raghavendra, whom you could easily mistake for the victim.
Crime can never stop, but these shows must, or at least get their act together. If not, then viewers like me will continue to laugh and blog about them. Of course, guilt for not empathizing with the crime-stricken victims would be equally apparent. Presently crime reporter on zee news is presented by neeraj thakur.

IBN7- INTRODUCTION

IBN-7 is a Hindi news television channel run by Network 18 Ltd . IBN7 is the Hindi News Channel of IBN18 Broadcast Limited, which is part of Network 18, India’s growing media conglomerate. IBN7 is from the same stable as CNN-IBN, English news channel and is led by - Rajdeep Sardesai and supported by Ashutosh, the Managing Editor of the channel
Global Broadcast New, which has made a strategic investment in Channel 7, the 24-hour Hindi language general news channel, has decided to change the name of Channel 7 to IBN-7, effective April 01, 2006.
GBN and Jagran TV Pvt Ltd have an equal inter se ownership in the Channel 7 and on mutual terms these media companies have decided the renaming structure. Also the editorial, production, distribution and other operations of Channel 7 shall be integrated with all the news channels of the TV18 Group, from next month.
Also, if sources are to be believed, Executive Producer of Aaj Tak, Ashutosh is joining IBN-7. Rajdeep Sardesai, chief anchor of CNN-IBN will be the Managing Editor of IBN7.
In the words of Rajdeep Sardesai "The ultimate star of a news channel is news. And that's what people come to News channels for. That has been our focus at CNN-IBN and will also be reflected in our news content in IBN 7. IBN 7 and CNN-IBN will complement each other in serving robust and high quality news from every region of the country and relevant global news."

Adds Managing Editor Ashutosh, "We have ambitious programming plans for IBN 7 including original content designed to appeal to viewers. The focus will be on building a channel that reflects the moment and engages with viewers over important issues of the day. Hard news will be our core offering as we feel sharpness in news has vanished from Hindi news channels."

CRIMINAL - CRIME SHOW

While surfing Hindi news channels, one can't help but notice the visible clutter of astrology and crime based shows. Almost all channels have shows based on astrology and crime. Network 18's Hindi news channel, IBN 7, has decided to stand out from the clutter and offer regular news to its viewers. February 16, the channel will remove astrology and crime based shows from its offerings.
Till sometime ago, IBN 7 boasted of two dedicated shows in similar categories, called Bhavishya (Future), an astrology-based show running since Jan 1, 2007; and Criminal, launched in June 5, 2006 and adjudged the Best Crime Show of 2007-08 at the News Television Awards, 2008.
Dilip Venkatraman, chief marketing officer, IBN Network, and chief operating officer, IBN Focus, says, “The decision of doing away with astrology and crime based shows is based on our internal research that proves that viewers of IBN 7 are more interested in consuming hardcore regular news. The idea as such is not to attach too much importance to the genres of astrology and crime.”
Venkatraman emphasises that the channel is in no way making a moral statement by doing away with these shows. The channel is also not in denial of the fact that lately, these two subjects have caught the imagination of the Indian viewers. He adds, “It's just that we will not give prime time importance to the two genres but will continue to take up news related to crime or will continue to rely on well investigated crime stories as and when the subject demands.”

Aajtak- INTRODUCTION


Aaj Tak is a Hindi News Channel, earlier it used to be a news program on one of Doordarshan's channels, which used to be advertised in the India Today magazine, but then Aaj Tak decided to take the world of news reporting to a whole new level, with the thought of which they launched their very own news channel in the year 2000.
When this channel was launched, it was considered as a novelty factor by many people, due to its glittering sets, its use of graphic designing technologies, studios being transformed into cricket grounds etc. due to the miracles of technology, a lot of infotainment as opposed to just news, and some solid first-hand reporting. These were the things that really boosted Aaj Tak's popularity.
It is a great source of information on what is going on in the country, keeping people up to date with the news information it provides, Aaj Tak surely is one of the best news channels of India of all time. So here are the five P's of this channel, the Presentation, Prowess, People, Pull and Peanuts.

Aaj tak is usually presented just like any other news channel would, with news readers reading through the news in front of a camera and the viewer shifting focus from the studio to the correspondent. However, Aaj Tak brought forward a higher level of interactivity with the correspondents as opposed to other news channels which existed at the time of its launch. Allowing the news reader to directly communicate with the correspondents live.
The presentation of Aaj Tak's special programs (Vishesh) is totally graphic-studded. The studio where such programs are created are totally digitalized and computer programs are used to put in graphical information in the room for the walls, floors etc. So it is truly a great piece of innovation I give all the credit to Aaj Tak for.
Another thing Aaj Tak has in its presentation on which it is a pioneer is the fact that they usually prefer to show weather on a map marked with Weather markings instead of having a news reader explain everything to the viewers. The animation makes the user view go over India on different locations where weather information is marked.

VARDAAT - CRIME SHOW

Vardaat is a 30-minutes daily weekday show on news from the world of crime and aired at 11 pm. The show focus on different kinds of crime based stories from all over India especially from the North and the metros.
Vaardaat sub-divided into segments each focusing on different kinds of crime. The program is with one or two leading stories of the day, following which there would be special segments Dafan File and Safedposh Mujrim, which deal with unsolved crime stories and white-collar crimes respectively.
Special stories on Forensic Investigation are part of Taftish whereas Mafia is a feature on criminal gangs. Finally, the segment Khas Report will feature stories on crime committed against women.
Aaj Tak senior marketing manager Rajesh Sheshadari sais, "Crime-based programmes are increasingly becoming very popular. The performance of Jurm is a case in point. Viewers are showing a keen appetite in crime related news. With Vardaat we will provide them with a day-to-day update on crime, whereas Jurm will continue to remain as a weekly show with focus on in-depth investigative coverage."

LITERATURE REVIEW

Media coverage of crime and justice is as old as printing. Historically, newspapers commonly carried stories about crime and criminals. Indeed, both news and entertainment television have included crime as a prominent feature over the past several decades.

Past analyses of entertainment based television suggest that crimes of violence such as murder tend to be overrepresented in television programming. Violence also appears to be a common theme in many reality-based television shows. The images and messages conveyed by these television programs about violent crimes, in particular murders, may ultimately influence what viewers come to think about violent crime in terms of its prevalence and nature as well as possible explanations for its occurrence.

There is some evidence that images of crime presented through television programming are frequently inaccurate and grossly distorted which may contribute to false beliefs or distorted view about crime. Thus, television portrayals, rather than enlightening viewers about crime, may in fact preclude adequate understanding.

Distorted presentations may contribute to inaccurate or false beliefs about crime among viewers. Indeed, several authors have contended that the media may be an important source of crime myths or false beliefs about crime and evidence suggests that media consumers may be influence by these media myths.

Why is crime such a popular subject in television newscast? There are several reasons. First, crime news is relatively cheap and readily accessible. Crime stories are routine and reporters rely on regular sources such as police officials. Second, providing information about crime can be seen as serving a useful purpose. Viewers are alerted to dangers that they may face and are generally kept apprised of the boundaries of acceptable behavior. Third, and perhaps most pivotal, crime stories are able to capture viewer attention.
With over 40 news channels, almost 100 million television home and over 200 million viewers weekly, 24-hour news channels are on the upswing. An ATM media research conducted in six metros reveals that with television viewership doubling in the past three years, news has emerged as the most sought after genre. While the share of the Hindi news channels increased by 78%, the English news channels have grown at lest four times even as the share of regional news has quadrupled.

If one channel has a short crime capsule running at repeated intervals during a two-hour prime-time slot, another flaunts its production values that are inspired by nothing less than a Ramgopal Verma crime thriller. Murder, rape, robbery, eve teasing, neighborhood security and different forms of policing are areas of focus as far as crime shows are concerned. Though Indian viewers have always been fascinate by the sordid injustices around them incorporating separate news shows that cater to crime is the hottest new phenomenon. Channels say they are only giving their increasingly-paranoid urban viewers what they want.

Over the past 10 years, numerous studies have established that television stations devoted a substantial proportion of their newscasts to crime coverage. The amounts reported ranged from less than 20% to more than 50%. The disparities reflected the fact that the studies often vary in how respondents defined crime stories and how they selected newsworthy news stories. Crime stories are heavy on melodrama, anguished interviews and gruesome facts but devoid of information that would help viewers understand the causes or frequency of particular kinds of crime.

Research on crime in the news media has relied on two different research methodologies. First, most media studies have used content analysis. Studies using this methodology examine the presentation of crime in the news, ignoring how and why certain crimes are selected, produced, or eliminated from presentation. Ethnography is the second type of research method used to study crime in the news media. Studies using ethnography examine the news production process, including decisions made by reporters, editors, producers and criminal’s justice sources. Ethnographic research documents how organizational factors, such as spatial arrangements, employee cultures, and social relationships, influence news presentation. Some content research has documented the individuals citied as sources within crime stories.
News channels in India are under attack for showing too much violence, but insiders say that it is not so and that they, in fact, do a lot of self-censoring।

AIMS & OBJECTIVE

I have chosen this topic because it is something which I always wanted to know, When people watch crime shows like “Crime reporter”, “vaardat”, ‘‘Criminal’’ and “Sansani” on Hindi news channels in India, what do they feel? I personally feel that the news channels loose a little bit of authenticity every time they broadcast something like a “Crime special (horror types) ”। On closer observation, I felt that the news content is shallow and frivolous and lacks depth in research and presentation to qualify as a news item and hence wanted to find out public opinion What is the impact of crime show in the mindset of common people?.

A teenage girl in central India killed herself on Wednesday after being traumatized by media reports that a "Big Bang" experiment in Europe could bring about the end of the world, her father said.

The 16-year old girl from the state of Madhya Pradesh drank pesticide and was rushed to the hospital but later died, police said.

Her father, identified on local television as Biharilal, said that his daughter, Chayya, killed herself after watching doomsday predictions made on Indian news programs.

"In the past two days, Chayya had asked me and other relatives about the world coming to an end on September 10," Biharilal was quoted as saying.

"We tried to divert her attention and told her she should not worry about such things, but to no avail," he said.

For the past two days, many Indian news channels held discussions airing doomsday predictions over a huge particle-smashing machine buried under the Swiss-French border.

The machine, called the Large Hadron Collider, was switched on on Wednesday, at the start of what experts say is the largest scientific experiment in human history.

The machine smashes particles together to achieve, on a small-scale, re-enactments of the "Big Bang" that created the universe.

Leading scientists and researchers at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, said the experiment was safe. They dismissed as "pure fiction" doomsday predictions that the experiment could create anti-matter, or black holes.

But in deeply religious and superstitious India, fears about the experiment and the minor risks associated with it spread rapidly through the media.

In east India, thousands of people rushed to temples to pray and fast while others savored their favorite foods in anticipation of the world's end.

"There were a thousand more devotees yesterday as well as today compared to (any) other normal day," Benudhara Sahu, a temple official in Orissa state, told Reuters.

Many women and children rushed to temples and observed fasts as they prayed for deliverance, officials and witnesses said.

Assurances by scientists and the media that nothing would happen counted for nothing for housewife Rukmini Moharana.

"I visited temple, prayed to god," Moharana said. "I am observing the fast for safety because god can only save us


Orissa TV, owned by a leading BJD politician’s family, repeatedly telecast the explicit sexual content of a porn CD involving a young college girl, who had already committed suicide.

A recent porn CD racket leading to the suicide of a college girl in Orissa became the main cause for repeated telecast of a porn CD on a leading local television channel in the State, inviting criticism from several quarters.

Orissa Television (OTV) -- the first private satellite Oriya TV channel from the State -- which broke the story of the porn CD case, repeatedly telecast the explicit sexual content of the CD involving a young college couple. The names of the couple, along with their addresses, family background and the institutions they studied in were also published in most of the local Oriya newspapers and regional English newspapers. The girl shown in the CD had already committed suicide by then following the circulation of the porn CD featuring her and her boyfriend.

The deceased was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her house in Cuttack on August 18, 2008. Based on reports from family members, police had registered a case of unnatural death. The girl had been secretly filmed by a hidden camera placed by her boy friend in his drawing room where they met. After making CDs of the film, her boyfriend sold it in the market. The girl was also blackmailed by her boyfriend and after reportedly coming to know of the circulation of the CDs in the market, she committed suicide. The accused and his associates apparently earned nearly Rs 7 lakh by trading the blue film CD.

Although the suicide was reported by most of the local media, its association with the porn CD circulation was first divulged by OTV on August 20, 2008. The contents of the CD were shown OTV's prime time news and current affairs slots, "Sahara Parikrama," "Twin City" and "Pratidin," with little to disguise the main players. The telecast continued in a similar manner on August 21 for all their news slots. The CD contents, depicting scenes of undressing and sex, usually ran parallel to the associated news content related to the incident.

"Instead of highlighting the case and the issue, the channel was more keen, to show the porn CD contents," says Jyotsna Routray, a veteran Oriya journalist. "This is not news, but pure sensationalisation. Repeated shots of porn CD showing explicit images of the couple is not justified and that too at prime time slots on a family channel." Routray questions, "What if the victim was alive? Imagine what kind of ordeal she and her family would have gone through especially after she was already traumatised by her boyfriend?"
According to its website OTV's promoter is Jagi Mangat Panda, a former super model and Director of Ortel Communications Ltd. She is the wife of the Janata Dal (BJD) MP from Rajya Sabha and industrialist Baijayant Panda.

The repeated telecast of the porn CD enraged several viewers who called the channel to stop showing the contents of the CD. Although the images were somewhat blurred after receiving such complaints, the telecast continued. There was no public service aspect to this telecast, since there was no public figure involved.
"The news could have been presented without repeatedly showing the visuals. It is irresponsible on the part of the channel and defames the victim's family. Although the media plays a concrete role in highlighting such issues, it should do so within certain norms and ethics. Such presentation of news on the part of OTV is condemnable," says Bhubaneswar-based viewer, Parimita, in a complaint to the channel's website. She further notes, "The wide criticism of electronic and print media in the Aarushi murder case should have been a great learning. It maligns the rights and dignity of the deceased."
In spite of this, OTV Channel on its part maintains that the purpose of showing the porn CD contents was not to 'sensationalise' but to focus on the issue of porn CD racket and blackmailing in Orissa. "We first broke the story and highlighting such cases is in the larger interest of the society. In fact, it was only after our repeated news telecast that investigations were speeded unearthing clues on organised rackets making pornographic videos by entrapping gullible girls," claims Manoranjan Mishra, Associate Editor (inputs), OTV. "Even the father of the victim was able to lodge a complaint based on our reports," he adds. However, he agrees that the blue film CD contents telecast on his channel were later blurred after receiving complaints from viewers.

On the other hand, media persons feel that the blue film CD was "too good an opportunity" to be thrown away by the channels. "Come on, that is the highpoint of any television channel to earn TRPs. If we have it, why not flaunt it," contends a senior television journalist based in Orissa not wanting to be named. "In all probability, the channel would have continued with the news after the accused was arrested if not for the murder of Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati and the subsequent Kandhamal riots." Although the CD was shown on other news channels and websites as well, the contents were blurred.
Jyotsna rues the lack of an effective monitoring system in such cases. "It is at times like this one wishes for an effective system to regulate unethical coverage without compromising on press freedom." It must be noted that Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry is now revising the programming code for television channels. The revised code will spell out details on how sex and nudity, crime and violence can be depicted on the small screen. Explicit visuals of sexual activities and complete nudity will be banned. The revised code, part of the Cable Television Networks Regulation Act, is also expected to incorporate rules for news channels.

During the experimentation of lord halogen machine in Geneva media deliberately announced the Dooms day of the universe which aired panic among the people. This was the acute bad reporting of media which must not be executed. And this was the reason that a girl hailing from Madhya Pradesh committed suicide.

In another case an image tarnished story of a girl aired by media who used to hail from orissa compelled the girl to claim her life. In this case a girl caught in a CD doing sex was aired in the prime time shows of a news channel.

So it was reference or reason why I chose this topic.

Research
To simplify my research, I have defined the following terms to narrow the focus of my research
• I have talked to crime reporters about my survey questions & about research.
• I research on the internet that which four news channels peoples mostly watch according to rating points.
• Dramatic news presentation: The voyeuristic and sensationalized presentation of crime stories.
• Objective news presentation: The unbiased and un-sensationalized presentation of crime stories.
• Increased credibility: Increased faith in the authenticity of the news channel.
• Decreased credibility: Reduced faith in authenticity of the news channel।

Methodology
I chose to conduct the research through survey of 100 people. I have asked the ten questions to people, related to crime programs. For this, I have make the question objective type because every one is busy & I don’t want waste the time to other peoples every one can fill the form with in two minutes. My last question was subjective question was that what do you think about crime show presentation is it right or wrong it was optional question & many people give the answer for this question & many people didn’t give. So it is my method of research. For fill up the form, I went to the railway station, bus stop, market, college, factory.

Q1- Do you watch the crime show ?
As per the survey conducted regarding the crime show, my first question is do they watch crime show or not? The result shows that most of the people would like to watch the crime show and the percentage of people who watch the crime show is 67 %. The percentage of people who would not like to watch this type of show is 8% and there are 25% of people who watch often.


Q2-Which crime show do you watch ?
The second question of my survey is regarding the news channels and the channels I selected is on the basis of there last 3 month T.R.P rating. The survey shows that the Sansani of star news having the highest of 35% viewer ship, after that aaj tak – vardaat posses 32%. Criminal of IBN7 and Crime reporter – zee news having the viewer ship of 20 and 13% respectively.


Q3-What is the impact of crime show on children ?

Third question I asked to the people is that, is there be any effect of crime show on children’s mind. This question gives a very serious survey result, on which we have to discuss on it. The survey result shows that the crime shows are really effect direct to the children’s mind, 47% of people tell that through the crime shows children’s are learning to commit the crime. And 40% of people agreed on the point that they make children aware about the crime. There are 8% people who say there is no effect on children also 5% of people who think that children’s take it as a joke or as a fun.

Q4- Do you think? That in a bid to increase the trp of the news channels they show the crime episode in a terrified way।

On the question that, the news channel shows the crime shows is in terrified way to increase the TRP of the show, 50% people agree with this point। However only 15% are disagree. 25% thinks that its good while 10% of people thinks crime shows should be portrayed like that.

Q5- What is the impact of crime show in the mindset of common people?

Crime shows are generally shows late night, just after the prime time। Most of the people after watching the prime time shows switch to the news channel. That’s why I asked the question that is there is any effect or impact of crime shows on common people. This question survey report shows that, 50% of people says that these shows are terrify the people while 17% of people just watching for the entertainment purpose. 20% says that there is no effect of this type of shows, and 20% says nothing about this.

Q6- Does repeating of crime show dedicated to terrorist & criminals make them heroes?

On the commitment of showing the truth and aware the people news channels repeated the crime shows, on this I ask the viewers that, by repeating the shows is media promoting the criminals as hero, a big mass of people think that they make them hero, and about 27% thinks it does but not is terrifying way. 13% says no, and 10% says that media dealing it in a wrong way.

On the effectiveness of news channels, the question crime shows make the people quarreling, aware, both of them or criminal, 32 % people says it aware and also quarreling while 25% thinks it’s quarreling. 21% thinks that it makes the people to commit the crime and 22% thinks it aware the people.

In my Survey 65% people agree that technology used by criminals is provoking to people to commit crime in new way, it’s right because any new crime provoke to commit crime.

Q9- Are crime shows awakening the criminals by showing the official steps taken by government against them?

There is also a question that, by showing the official steps taken by police, is criminal are being smarter in committing the crime? 40% of them think they can save themselves easily, 28% come to know how to escape easily and 12% says they are much smarter than police while 20% thinks there is no effect of this.

Q10-Do you think the violence shown the video are increasing the violence in the society?

Violence shown in a crime show’s increases the violent in some certain extend of period, But in my survey 57% people agree that violent videos increases the violent in society .

Conclusion
Through the research conducted on ------ people, there are 92 percent people watch the crime show only 8 percent people didn’t watch crime show when I want to know that why they don’t watch crime show there are different answer one people says that I don’t watch crime show because they are very horror & making to terrify the people. it become quit clear that most of the respondents feel that crime shows or “specials” are a game of survival for channels driven by the savage rules of competition. News channels face a crisis of content and creativity and resort to any means available even sensationalism, to grab eyeballs.

Many of the respondents feel that violence sells and TRP’s of the countless violence related shows on primetime television prove this. A few of the respondents feel that the new trend of crime shows are so distastefully package that it fails to hold viewers sustained interest and faith in the channel. The large respondents feel that children are learning to commit the crime by the crime show.

A small number of respondents feel that the crime shows are entertaining in a way because they are so “over-dramatically” over-done but a large number respondents feel that in a bid to increase the TRP of the news channels they show the crime episode in a terrified way, This is why, they say, that the crime shows do not hold their position in viewers mind as news. These respondents also fell that less sensationalism and a little less dramatic presentation would probably bring the channel a little more credibility in their minds.

Respondents feel that content providers and distributors viz. TV channels must exercise restraint and self-regulation as to the sensitive nature of the content by provide, especially with regards to the non-news segment which has been observed to have a harmful impact on the younger generation.
The fifty percent peoples in my survey agree to this that crime shows are disseminating the much equipped technologies use by criminals provoking the people to commit crime in new way. The 57 percent respondents with this the violence shown the video are increasing the violence in the society while twenty percent respondent said that the reason for the fight is media. crime shows awakening the criminals by showing the official steps taken by government against them Criminals can safe them self the 40 percent of respondent agree with this while 28 percent respondent said that they can escape easily.
From this, we can conclude that the demands of entertainment in television may also account for the divergence of other portrayals. Respondents feel that the aim of TV news channels are centered on creating drama and ensuring entertainment , rather than presenting news of any consequence and that the maxim “seeing is believing” is no longer true and that audience cannot be taken for granted.

My last question was objective type the question was ‘‘do you think the portrayed of crime show is right many people give the answer & some didn’t, the large number of people say that crime show presentation is horror and some people say that crime show should be portrayed like that।

गिरिडीह में नक्सलियों द्वारा झारखंड के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री बाबूलाल मरांडी के बेटे समेत 18 लोगों की हत्या के सिलसिले में राज्य सरकार की तरह से ही केंद्र सरकार की घिसी-पिटी प्रतिक्रिया सामने आना किसी को भी आक्रोश और क्षोभ से भर देने के लिए पर्याप्त है। आखिर केंद्रीय सत्ता ऐसी घटनाओं पर कब तक चिंता जताने और राज्य सरकार से घटना का विवरण जानने तक स्वयं को सीमित रखेगी? हिंसा और हत्या पर उतारू नक्सलियों के खिलाफ राज्य सरकारें तो असहज हैं ही, केंद्रीय सत्ता भी पूरी तौर पर विफल और साथ ही असहज नजर आ रही है। यदि केंद्र सरकार देश के 13 राज्यों में फैल चुके नक्सली संगठनों पर काबू पाने में समर्थ नहीं है तो फिर वह उनके संदर्भ में अपनी निश्प्रभावी सक्रियता क्यों दिखा रही है? बेहतर हो कि केंद्र सरकार और विशेष रूप से केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय राज्यों को यह संदेश दे दे कि नक्सली संगठनों पर अंकुश लगाने के मामले में वे उसके भरोसे न रहें। इसी वर्ष मार्च में जब जमशेदपुर में नक्सलियों ने झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा के सांसद सुनील महतो की उनके अंगरक्षकों समेत हत्या की थी तब केंद्रीय सत्ता ने ऐसा कुछ जाहिर किया था जैसे वह इस घटना से बहुत विचलित है और नक्सली संगठनों पर लगाम लगाकर रहेगी। नक्सलियों ने जिस प्रकार जमशेदपुर की ही तरह गिरिडीह में अपना खूनी खेल खेला उससे यह साफ है कि केंद्रीय सत्ता ने मार्च में राज्य और राष्ट्र को जो आश्वासन दिया था वह महज कागजी था। नक्सली संगठनों पर काबू पाने के मामले में केंद्रीय सत्ता के नाकारेपन के प्रमाण छत्ताीसगढ़ में भी मिल चुके हैं और बिहार, उड़ीसा तथा आंध्र प्रदेश में भी। ऐसा लगता है कि केंद्र सरकार नक्सलियों के खिलाफ नक्सलवाद से ग्रस्त राज्यों को कोई दिशा-निर्देश अथवा मदद देने के मामले में सिर्फ कोरी औपचारिकता का निर्वाह कर रही है। यदि ऐसा कुछ नहीं होता तो नक्सलियों का दुस्साहस निरंतर बढ़ता नहीं रहता।
इसमें संदेह नहीं कि नक्सलवाद से ग्रस्त राज्यों का पुलिस बल बहुत ही ढीला-ढाला और संसाधनों से रहित है, लेकिन क्या केंद्रीय सत्ता उनकी मदद नहीं कर सकती? यह चिंताजनक है कि नक्सली संगठन न केवल दुस्साहसी होते चले जा रहे हैं, बल्कि कहीं अधिक आधुनिक हथियारों और विस्फोटक सामग्री से लैस भी होते जा रहे हैं। यह सामान्य बात नहीं कि गिरिडीह में उन्होंने सीआरपीएफ जवानों की वर्दी पहनकर घटना को अंजाम दिया। यदि यही हाल रहा तो नक्सली अन्य राज्यों में भी अपना खूनी खेल दिखाएंगे और हमारे गृहमंत्री तथा प्रधानमंत्री उन्हें आंतरिक सुरक्षा के लिए सबसे बड़ा खतरा बताकर अपने कर्तव्य की इतिश्री करते रहेंगे। गिरिडीह की घटना इसलिए कहीं अधिक आघातकारी है, क्योंकि बाबूलाल मरांडी उन चंद नेताओं में से हैं जो नक्सलियों का खुलकर विरोध कर रहे हैं। यह निराशाजनक भी है और चिंताजनक भी कि अब स्थानीय स्तर पर नक्सली संगठनों को ललकारने वाले राजनेताओं की संख्या लगातार कम होती चली जा रही है। चूंकि झारखंड की सरकार केंद्र सरकार के समर्थन से ही सत्ता पर टिकी हुई है इसलिए किसी न किसी स्तर पर इस घटना की जिम्मेदारी उसे भी लेनी होगी। इतना ही नहीं, उसे राज्यों को साथ लेकर नक्सलियों के खिलाफ कोई व्यापक और सघन अभियान भी छेड़ना होगा, क्योंकि वे सचमुच आंतरिक सुरक्षा के लिए सबसे गंभीर खतरे के रूप में उभर आए हैं।

But how many of us really talk about the rights of those females who are forced into the business of selling their bodies for earning a loaf of bread for themselves and their families. Talking about their life is a far off matter people don’t even find their life worth being respected.
One of the major reasons of prostitution is trans-border human trafficking. Women and teenage girls are trafficked from remote areas and are sold in the flesh trade ultimately giving rise to prostitution. Usually, there exists a notion in the masses that women indulge in this business on their own wish. But this is not true on the larger whole. The girls doing this on their wish are not the ones who live in the brothels but mostly they are the girls staying away from their home on account of studying. They indulge in the business for meeting that extra expense that their parents refuse to provide them with or sometimes they even do it for just the fun of it.
On the contrary, the girls coerced in the trade are nipped in the bud. They struggle for every bit of air that they survive on and even sometimes go through severe torture that they can’t revolt against. The suffering doesn’t end here, they and their children are treated as untouchables by the society. Like every other mother they also wish to give a good life and education to their children but fail most of the time because they are not accepted by the society. Their kids end up living a similar life as their mothers do in search of respect and recognition.
This is really very tough to believe that we live in a society that can accept a father who rape his daughter but does not accept the daughter who is forced to sell her body to survive. Some people argue that prostitution should be legalized, as it is necessary for other women to live safe life. Otherwise the rape rate will rise beyond limits and the women of respected families will no longer be safe in the society. Does that mean we the people of so called respected families, we who make the society are so selfish that to protect our sisters and daughters we can put on stake somebody else’s daughter and sister’s life? Isn’t that inhuman?

Some NGOs demand legalization of prostitution. But does legalization by any means put a check on human trafficking, illiteracy or poverty?

राजनीति का नया हथियार "सेतु समुद्र्म"

"आयोध्या के बाद अब रामसेतु"

रामसेतु मुद्दे नें इन दिनों तूल पकड़ा हुआ है। रामसेतु मामले पर केंद्र सरकार द्वारा सुप्रीम कोर्ट में दायर हलफनामा वापस ले लेने, और इस सारी प्रक्रिया के बीच श्री राम चंद्र के बारे में दिये गए आपत्ति जनक बयान से केंद्र कि देश भर में हुई मुश्किलें भले ही मन्द पड़ गई हो, लेकिन देश में आ रहे मध्यावधि चुनाव में कुछ राजनेता इस मुद्दे को चुनावी हथियार बनाने कि तैयारी में हैं। जिनमें से कुछ नेताओं नें तो इसका खुला ऐलान भी कर दिया है। यानि रामसेतु के विरोध में देश कि राजनीति सबसे आगे दौड़ती नज़र आ रही है।

आख़िर कब तक ये राजनीति धर्म से खिलवाड़ करती रहेगी? यू।पी में भी जब-जब चुनाव नजदीक आते हैं तब-तब राजनेता इस मुद्दे को चुनाव लड़ने को इस्तेमाल करते हैं। और इसके कारण सैकड़ों लोगों कि जानें जाती हैं। और जाने कितने घर बर्बाद होते हैं। अब राजनेताओं को एक नया मुद्दा मिल गया है चुनाव लड़ने के लिए। राजनीति एक ऐसा मन्त्र है जो लोगों के कर्म से लेकर धर तक को इस्तेमाल करती है। मैं कहता हूँ कि कोई धर्म आपस में लड़ने कियो इजाजत नही देता फिर क्यों लोग आपस में लड़ रहे हैं? वो भी राम के अस्तित्व को लेकर।
हकीक़त तो ये है कि आज कोई भी नेता मौजूद नही जो बिना किसी मुद्दे के चुनाव लड़ सके। चलो एक दुसरे कि बुरे तो एक सीमित बात थुई लेकिन ये कौन सी राह है जो नेता लोग अपना रहे हैं। धर्म को राजनीति में आता देख लोग भी बहुत प्रभावित हैं। ये राजनीति लोगों कि धार्मिक भावनाओं से खेल रही है। अगर केंद्र सरकार नें एसे विवादों को राजनीती में लाने पर रोक ना लगाई तो एक दिन पुरे देश को इससे नुकसान उठाना पड़ सकता है। केंद्र सरकार को एसे नियम बनाने चाहिऐ कि कोई भी नेता धर्म को लेकर चुनाव ना लड़े, इससे वोटों का भी गलत इस्तेमाल होता है।
अगर राजनीती में धर्मों को खेल बंद ना हुआ तो एक दिन लोग राजनीती के चक्कर में भाईचारा ख़त्म कर बैठेगें। और फिर धार्मिक लड़ाइयाँ शुरू हो जायेगीं।

राजनीती कि लगती है अलग अदालत

६६ में से ६५ मामलों में नेता बरी
अभी कुछ दिन पहले इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने चिन्ता व्यक्त कि है कि गवाहों के मुकर जाने के कारण अपराधी छवि वाले नेता बरी हो जाते हैं। न्यायालय ने कहा है कि अपराधी छवि रखने वाले नेताओं के खिलाफ मुकदमों में गवाहों का गवाही से मुकार जाना और उनके पक्ष में हो जाने जैसी घटनाएं बहुत ही भयंकर रूप ले रहीं हैं। जिसके कारण वास्तविक पीड़ितों के साथ अन्याय होता है। उन्हें न्याय नही मिल पता।
इस कारण न्यायिक प्रक्रिया भी बाधित होती है। क्योंकि न्याय कि मुख्य भुमिका गवाहों कि होती है। जब गवाह ही बयान से मुकर जायेगें तो न्याय कैसे होगा? और सभी राजनेता अपने धन बल पर गवाहों को अपने पक्ष में कर लेते हैं। हाल ही में निचली अदालत द्वारा, हाई कोर्ट में भेज गए ६६ मामलों में से ६५ मामलों में नेताओं को बरी कर दिया गया जिसका कारण गवाहों का नेताओं के पक्ष में हो जाना या गवाही से पलट जाना है। इस खबर को पढ़कर मुझे बड़ा ही दुःख हुआ अगर ये सिलसिला जारी रहा तो लोगों का विश्वास अदालत से भी उठ जाएगा। और ये नेता बार-बार गुनाह करके बरी होते रहेगें। इन नेताओं को जिन मुकदमों में बरी किया गया उनमें हत्या, लूट, डकैती, भूमि क़ब्जा, अपहरण और फिरौती जैसे संगीन अपराध के मामले भी शामिल हैं। और इन मामलों में नेताओं ने गवाहों को अपने पक्ष में कर लिया चाहे वो पैसे के बल पर किया हो या डरा धमकाकर। और जिसके चलते ये नेता मुकदमा जीतनें में सफल रहे।
अदालत भी फैसला गवाहों कि बुनियाद पर करती है यह भी कानून कि लाचारी है। अदालत सबकुछ जानते हुए भी गवाहों कि वजह से अक्सर गलत फैसला कर देती है। जज सबकुछ जानते हुए भी गवाहों के कारन अन्याय करने को मजबूर रहते हैं। राजनेता अपनी हरकतों से तो बाज़ आयेगें नही मेरे ख़्याल से कानून को उन गवाहों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्यवाही करनी चाहिए जो अपने बयान से पलट जाते हैं जिन्हे कुछ रूपये देकर नेता खरीद लेते हैं।
कुछ मामलें ऐसे भी होगें जिनमे नेता गवाहों को डराते धमकाते होगें तो उनकी पहचान सरकार को गुप्त रखनी चाहिए। कानून जैसा एक साधारण मनुष्य के लिए है वैसा ही इन राजनेताओं के लिए भी होना चाहिए। जब सरकार को पता है कि गवाहों के कारण ये अपराधी नेता बचते रहते हैं तो उन गवाहों के खिलाफ मुकदमा क्यों नही दायर किया।
और उन नेताओं के खिलाफ भी कड़ी कार्यवाही कि जानी चाहिए जिनके गवाह मुकर जाते हैं। उन गवाहों से पूछताछ करके गहराई तक जाया जाये कि आख़िर वो लोग बयान से क्यों पलटे? किस दबाव के कारण उन्होने बयान बदला या क्यों उन्होने रिश्वत ली और क्यों नेता ने उसे रिश्वत दी। रिश्वत देने वाला और लेने वाला दोनो ही अपराधी होते हैं। इस तरह से गवाहों के खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाई तो इन अपराधी नेताओं को सज़ा दी जा सकती है वैसे जहाँ तक मेरा विचार है एक अपराधी नेता हो ही नही सकता।

और किसे पीछे करेगें नेता?

कुछ दिन पूर्व ट्वेंटी- २० में विश्व कप जीकर लौटी, भारतीय टीम के स्वागत में भारतीय किर्केट कंट्रोल बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष शरद पवार ने कोई कसर नही छोड़ी। टीम का पूरा जुलूस निकला गया जो सहारा एअरपोर्ट से शुरू होकर वानखेड़े स्टेड़ियम पर खत्म हुआ जहाँ लाखो लोग अपने चहेते खिलाडियों कि एक झलक पाने के लिए बेताब थे और पहले से वहां मौजूद थे। यानि लोगों ने अपनी ख़ुशी पूरी तरह ज़ाहिर कि जुलूस मे भी लोगों ने बढ़- चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया। लेकिन बात यहीं पर ख़त्म नही होती राजनेताओं ने यहाँ भी अपना राजनितिक खेल खेला! शरद पवार जी ने अपने सभी कार्यकर्ताओं (राकपां के नेताओं) को स्टेडियम में अगली पंक्ति में बैठाया जबकि असली खिलाड़ियों को उनके पीछे बैठाया गया। भीड़ से खचा-खच भेरे स्टेडियम में लोग अपना सा मुँह लिए खड़े रहे आख़िर और वे किसे देखते? वे देखने क्या आये थे और उन्हें देखना क्या पड़ा?
इस बात से लोगों को बहुत ही अफ़सोस हुआ कि आखिर खिलाड़ियों को पीछे क्यों बैठाया गया और नेता आगे क्यों बैठे । आख़िर और किसे-किसे पीछे करेगी ये राजनीति और राजनेता? शायद वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में खिलाड़ियों का स्वागत नहीं राकांपा के नेताओं का स्टेज शो होगा, जिसके हीरो शरद पवार जी होगें। शायद एसा ही कुछ सोचा होगा शरद पवार जी ने जुलुस तो लोग याद रखेगें ही लेकिन वान्खेदे स्टेडियम को भी लोग नही भुला पायेगें. जो राजनेता स्टेज पर बैठे थे उन्होने दर्शकों कि भावनाओं पर पानी फेर दिया। लोग असली हेरों को ही नही देख पायें।

आजकल कि राजनीति बिल्कुल बेशर्म हो गई है। और राजनेताओं को सिर्फ अपनी कुर्सी का ख़्याल है। चाहे इसके लिए उन्हें किसी को आगे बढाना पडे या किसी को पीछे बैठाना पडे बस इनकी पार्टी चलनी चाहिए।

एकता और वारदात?

हमारे देश की एकता सारे देश में मिसाल बनी हुई है। हमारे देश में रहने वाला हर नागरिक अपनी राष्ट्रीयता पर गर्व करता है, कि वह एसे देश में पैदा हुआ जहाँ हर मज़हब के लोग रहते हैं, जहाँ भिन्न -भिन्न भाषायें बोली जाती हैं, जो भिन्न होते हुए भिन्न एकता कि मिसाल कायम करते हैं। यहाँ के लोग एसे हैं कि देश के लिए अगर उन्हें अपने खूण कि आहुति देनी पड़े तो वे इस कार्य में अपना गर्व महसूस करेंगे। इस देश कि असल एकता तो तब देखने को मिलती है जब देश के किसी हिस्से में प्रकृति कि तरफ से कोई संकट आती है या असामाजिक तत्वों के कारण कहीँ मजहब कि आग़ भड्कती है । उस स्थिति में हर नागरिक देश में शांति कि दुवायें करता है । उससे जितना भिन्न होता है वो संकट में पीड़ित लोगों कि भी तन -मन-धन से सहायता करता है । चाहे उसका मज़हब कोई भी हो या बोली कोई भी हो।
लेकिन देश में इतनी एकता के बावजूद लोग अपने आप को सुरक्षित महसूस नही करते हैं। इसका कारण चाहे कुछ भी हो। पहले जब कोई व्यक्ति कहीँ अकेला सफ़र करता था या कहीँ अकेला जाता था और उसे राह में कोई दूसरा व्यक्ति मिल जता था तो वह ख़ुशी से फूला नही समाता था और मन ही मन सोचता था कि अब किसी जानवर का डर नही अब हम एक और एक ग्यारह हैं। लेकिन आज अगर कोई व्यक्ति कहीँ जता है और उसे उसी राह का कोई व्यक्ति मिलता है तो उसका ख़ून सूख जाता है, और वो मन ही मन सोचता है कि कहीँ ये व्यक्ति मुझे मार न डाले, मुझे लूट न ले, मुझे अगवा न कर ले यानी उसकी सोच दूसरे के प्रति बिल्कुल उल्टी हो जाती है। आजकल कोई व्यक्ति दुसरे पर भरोसा नही करता है हमेशा दूसरे के प्रति गलत ही सोचता है। इसलिये आज हमारे देश में इतनी एकता के बावजूद अनेकता है।
आजकल चौराहों पर लुट पाट, महिलाओं से छेड़-छाड़ आदि तो अब आम बात हो चुकी है। आयदिन अखबारों में ये खबरें पढने को मिल जाती हैं लेकिन कभी हमें यह पढने को नही मिलता की किसी ने इसके खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाई। अपराधी हमारी खामोशी का फायदा उठाकर ही लोगों को परेशान करते हैं। वे जानते हैं की आजकल कोई किसी के लिए आवाज़ नही उठाता, लोगों के दिलों से इंसानियत निकल चुकी है। ट्रेनों में तो बालात्कार जैसी घटनाएं आम बात बन चुकी हैं। आजकल अपराधी अपने आप को खुला महसूस करते हैं उन्हें किसी महिला का बलात्कार करने, किसी की हत्या करने में ज़रा भी संकोच नही। वे निडर होकर अपने काम को अंजाम देतें हैं और लोगों का मजमा तमाशा देखने के सिवा कुछ नही कर पाते।
क्या हम किसी जुर्म के खिलाफ एकजुट होकर आवाज़ नही उठा सकते? आज हर शख्स अपनी ही उलझनों में उलझा हुआ है कोई किसी के चक्कर में नही पड़ना चाहता। मैं आपसे एक सवाल पूछना चाहता हूँ की लुट पाट करने वालों की संख्या कितनी होई है दो, चार, पंच, दस इतनी ही और मजमा देखनें वाले लोगों की भीड़ कितनी ? क्या हम उनका मुकाबला नही कर सकते हैं? क्या हमारे अन्दर इतनी इंसानियत भी बाक़ी नही की किसी की आबरू को लुटने से नही बच सकते? अगर कोई आवाज़ नही उठाता तो कम से कम हमें आवाज़ उठानी चाहिए जिससे की हमे देखकर लोगों के दिलों में जोश पैदा हो जाये।
हमे ठंडे दिमाग से सोचना चाहिए की अगर ये घटनाओं का क्रम एसे ही चलता रह तो कल मेरा या तुम्हारा नंबर भी हो सकता है। इसलिये हमें अपनी एकता की मिसाल यहाँ भी बरकरार रखते हुए इसके खिलाफ आवाज़ उठानी चाहिऐ। अभी हमने सिर्फ आजादी हासिल की है लेकिन हमें अभी अपनें दिलों को एक द्युसरे जोड़ना होगा। सुरक्षित सफ़र और घूमने की आजे हासिल करनी होगी। और यह तभी सम्भव हो सकता है जब हम इसके खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाएं और अपराधियों के दिलों में अपनी एकता का खौफ़ पैदा कर दें।
